The Hook

While working at StudioLR out client, Isle of Arran Distillers, asked us to help them create a campaign celebrating their 30th anniversary. A year in which they would be releasing their first 30 year old bottling and throwing one hell of a party at the Arran Malt & Music festival.

They wanted the campaign to feel personal and true to the Arran Malt brand, while also easy to use across a large range of mediums.


 
 

The Line

To create this campaign I digged through a treasure trove of photography, drawings and memos the team at Arran Whisky had collected over the past 30 years, including taking submissions from Arran Whisky consumers. We then took insights and memories collected from the team and created little stories that we could pair with the images. These stories were hand written by myself and other members of the StudioLR team onto the images to create a personal feel.

We then created β€˜lay-flat’ flexible layouts with included bottle shots photographed by me, textured versions of the logo, drawings, smudges, shadows and lots more to create a real tactile feel to the campaign. The β€˜lay-flat’ style of the campaign allowed to to be extremely flexible across all mediums, and also allowed to the client to easily add new images and bottle shots in the future.


 
 

The Sinker

The team at Arran Whisky absolutely loves the campaign and so did the consumers. And the campaign has outlived it’s intended first usage as it has been so flexible for the team to use.
